The InfraCo Asia team was in Islamabad this week to give updates to its owner representatives, joint venture partners, and key stakeholders. Meetings were conducted with key Pakistan government officials, including minister of state and chairman Board of Investment, and minister of energy. The meetings covered future investment and development opportunities in the renewable energy and waste-to-energy sectors. InfraCo Asia has been developing and investing in Pakistan since 2013 and invested in two wind projects of 50MW each in Sindh. The two 50MW wind power projects are providing approximately 700,000 people in Pakistan with improved access to clean energy. InfraCo Asia recently entered into a joint venture with Albario Engineering under project company PRISM, which seeks to develop distributed rooftop solar systems in Pakistan. InfraCo Asia is also developing a 150MW portfolio of run-of-river hydroelectric projects in the Swat through a joint venture.
